Why Fruitport INDEPENDENT?

We spend every dollar on the development of youth through music. We provide outstanding instruction, we create leaders and we prepare our students for whatever comes next. For some, its a tryout for a school play, for others its a university music program audition. We use marching and music to build character and confidence in west-Michigan youth.

What do sponsors get out it?

First, pride. Pride in knowing you helped make a kids dream of performing in front of thousands of people come true. Second, growth. Growth as a community as all of your donation remains right here in West-Michigan. Third and least important, recognition. You should be proud of your contribution and were proud have your support.

A donation of $50 - $249 is nothing to sneeze at. This amount covers the cost of a drum head, or a pair of mallets and we are very grateful to have it. Donors at this level receive:

• A tee-shirt showcasing our 2024 show with your logo.

Every little bit helps! at $1-$49 you may still make sure we can repair a floor, tape some sticks, or get an extra extension cord for our electronics and were grateful! For donating at this level you will receive a warm feeling in your soul knowing you made a performers dream take shape.

How much do you really need

Our basic operating budget for 2024 is estimated at $19,707. Approximately $10,500 of that will come directly from students paying dues. Without community support it is left to the educational staff and members to come up with the rest. We require funds for:

• Administration Cost: Competition fees, music licensing, instructional staff, transportation and group insurance.

• Equipment: Drums, keyboards, sticks, heads, electronic amplification and mallets.

• Production: Props, floor cover, auxiliary instruments and uniforms.

You’re in luck! Fruitport Independent is always in need of volunteers. We need assistance in meal planning and prep, moving equipment and props, cleaning uniforms after performances, setting-up and cleaning rehearsal sites, and more.
